Crate Runner
Clear this week's drop in 15 minutes.
A Mac app for working DJs. Drop in your record pool downloads, hear the drop of every track, press keep or skip, and get a folder of keepers ready for your DJ software. It learns what you keep and moves that music to the front.
No card needed. Requires a Mac with Apple silicon (M1 or newer) running macOS 14 Sonoma or newer. Intel Macs are not supported.
How it works
What makes it different
- It learns you. From your first keeps on, the ranking follows your taste and the songs you would keep move to the front of the queue.
- Popular first, then personal. Bigger artists lead on day one so you never dig through unknowns to find the records the crowd knows. Your own taste takes over as it learns.
- Artists you keep rise. It starts with the artists everyone knows and shifts toward the artists you keep. Keep one track and that artist's next tracks lead your queue. It sharpens over your first few weeks.
- Your music stays on your Mac. Your music, files, and taste model never leave your machine. The app sends anonymous judging counts, the artist names it needs scored, and a license check-in.
Pricing
Try it before you pay. Your first 100 songs are free, enough to clear a full pool pack and watch it start learning what you keep. Subscribe when you are ready; your keepers and everything it learned stay right where they are. Every charge can be refunded within 14 days, and cancelling stops the next charge. Prices in US dollars; sales tax is calculated at checkout. Payments are handled by Paddle, our merchant of record. One subscription covers one Mac; moving to a new Mac is done from the app or the seat page. See the Refund Policy.
Questions
Which record pools work?
Any pool whose downloads you can put on your Mac. Zips, folders, and loose files all work. Bulk downloads from BPM Supreme, Headliner, Club Killers, Direct Music Service, DJcity, and Late Night Record Pool have all been run through it.
Does it touch my music library?
No. It reads the music you drop in, writes keepers to its own Keepers folder, and never moves or deletes your original files.
What does it send anywhere?
Anonymous judging counts (keep, skip, later, undo), the song identity behind each, the pool brand, the artist names it cannot score yet, and app version, plus a license check-in. No audio, no files, no personal names, no file paths. It helps us improve Crate Runner and cannot be switched off. Details in the Privacy Policy.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. Download the app, enter your email, and your first 100 songs are free, with no card. That is about one pool pack, enough to see how fast a drop clears and to watch the order start to follow your keeps. One free trial per Mac. After 100 songs or 14 days, subscribe to keep going. Cancelling a subscription stops the next charge; your license runs to the end of the period you paid for.
Does it work offline?
Yes. Judging, keeping, and ranking all run on your Mac. The license checks in when it can and keeps working for weeks without a connection.
